The payload capacity of small vans on the market varies depending on the make, model, and trim. For instance, the payload for a small panel van ranges from 610kg for more compact vans such as the Fiat Fiorino to 677kg for the Transit Courier. If you're looking to lease a small van with high payload, we recommend opting for one of the Stelliantis models, Fiat, Renault, or Toyota. The Vauxhall Combo Cargo, Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Fiat Doblo, Renault Kangoo, and Toyota Proace City all offer a maximum payload capacity of up to 1,000kg. The Ford Transit Connect is not far off with a payload of up to 913kg, while the VW Caddy can accommodate loads of up to 700kg.

The small electric van lineup from the Stellantis Group, comprising the Citroen e-Berlingo, Peugeot e-Partner, and Vauxhall Combo Cargo Electric, as well as the Toyota Proace City Electric, all boast a range of up to 171 miles on the WLTP cycle and a maximum combined range of 205 miles. However, Vauxhall claims that the Combo Electric can achieve 211 miles combined on a single charge.
