Dacia has officially unveiled the all-new Striker, introducing a fresh contender to the highly competitive C-segment. Designed to combine the practicality of an SUV, the comfort of a saloon and the versatility of an estate, the newcomer broadens the Romanian brand’s expanding model range and is expected to reach UK showrooms later this year with prices starting from less than £25,000.
The Striker joins the Bigster in Dacia’s growing family of larger models, but rather than following the traditional SUV formula, it adopts a more crossover-inspired approach. The result is a vehicle that promises SUV-style confidence and practicality while offering improved efficiency and more composed on-road handling thanks to its lower overall height.
Visually, the Striker follows Dacia’s latest design language, featuring a bold front-end, pronounced wheel arches and protective black body cladding that reinforces its rugged character. Raised ground clearance gives it the commanding driving position many buyers now expect, while roof bars and clean body lines complete the practical, adventure-ready appearance.
Despite its SUV-inspired styling, the Striker measures 4.62 metres in length, placing it firmly among C-segment family cars. Its 1.53-metre height is noticeably lower than many conventional SUVs, helping to improve aerodynamics while delivering handling characteristics that are expected to feel closer to a traditional hatchback or saloon than a taller crossover.
Practicality remains one of the Striker’s strongest selling points. The luggage compartment offers a generous 600 litres of boot space, making it well suited to growing families or long-distance travel. An adjustable boot floor also allows owners to configure the load area for larger items or create a flatter loading surface when the rear seats are folded.
Inside, Dacia has continued its focus on durability and usability. The cabin makes extensive use of hard-wearing materials designed to withstand everyday family life, while a straightforward dashboard layout prioritises ease of use over unnecessary complexity. Higher-specification models add premium touches without losing the value-focused approach that has become synonymous with the brand.
The engine line-up centres around hybrid technology. The front-wheel-drive Hybrid 155 combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors to produce 155PS, while keeping CO₂ emissions below 100g/km. The hybrid system has been engineered to deliver smooth everyday performance alongside improved fuel economy and lower running costs.
Dacia will also offer buyers the option of a Hybrid 150 all-wheel-drive model. This version uses a 1.2-litre petrol engine together with an electrified rear axle, allowing the system to automatically send power to the wheels with the most grip. The result is improved traction on wet roads, loose surfaces and light off-road terrain without the complexity of a conventional mechanical four-wheel-drive system.
Dacia Striker Trim Levels
The Dacia Striker will be available in four trim levels—Essential, Expression, Extreme and Journey—allowing buyers to choose a specification that best suits their budget and requirements. From well-equipped entry-level models to premium variants with advanced technology and comfort features, there’s a version aimed at a wide range of drivers.
The entry-level Essential trim arrives with a generous list of standard equipment. Features include 17-inch steel wheels, roof bars, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone mirroring, connected services, a digital driver’s display, manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
Moving up to the Expression grade introduces 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, an electric parking brake with Auto Hold, a larger centre console with an integrated armrest, electrically folding door mirrors, rear air vents and USB charging ports for second-row passengers.
The more rugged Extreme specification adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Copper Brown styling accents, a panoramic sunroof and a hands-free keycard. Inside, buyers benefit from washable Microcloud synthetic upholstery, durable rubber floor and boot mats, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, the Media Nav Live infotainment system, an Arkamys 3D six-speaker audio system and hill descent control.
Topping the range is the Journey trim, which focuses on comfort and convenience. Equipment includes a powered tailgate, keyless entry, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging and an upgraded centre console with additional storage and an integrated armrest.
When it arrives later this year, the Striker will take on established rivals including the Kia K4 and Skoda Octavia. However, rather than competing solely as another family hatchback or SUV, Dacia is positioning the newcomer as something of a crossover between several body styles. By blending estate-car practicality, SUV-inspired styling and hybrid efficiency with the brand’s reputation for value, the Striker could appeal to buyers looking for a versatile family car without the premium price tag.
With a starting price expected to remain below £25,000, the Dacia Striker has the potential to strengthen the brand’s position in the family car market by delivering a combination of space, efficiency, technology and value for money that will be difficult for many rivals to match.
