The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has opened nominations for its 2027 Industry Hero Awards, introducing three new categories to recognise the individuals and teams making an outstanding contribution to the UK vehicle rental, leasing and fleet management industries.
The annual awards celebrate the people whose hard work, dedication and achievements help keep the industry moving. From frontline rental employees to leasing specialists and those supporting fleet management operations, the awards aim to recognise contributions that may otherwise go unnoticed beyond individual organisations.
For 2027, the BVRLA has refreshed the awards format to encourage greater participation from across its membership. The changes are intended to make the awards more accessible to businesses of different sizes, including large leasing companies, independent rental operators, leasing brokers and industry suppliers.

Three New Categories For 2027
The updated awards programme introduces three categories, each designed to recognise a different area of the vehicle rental and leasing industry.
| Award Category | What It Recognises |
|---|---|
| Rental Hero | An outstanding individual or small team working within, or supporting, the vehicle rental sector. |
| Leasing Hero | Someone making a significant contribution to the vehicle leasing or leasing broker industry. |
| Customer Hero | An individual or team demonstrating exceptional customer service, building strong customer relationships, supporting compliance or helping raise industry standards. |
The awards are open to people who demonstrate exceptional commitment, initiative, fresh thinking and a willingness to go beyond their everyday responsibilities.
The new categories also recognise the important role played by businesses supporting commercial vehicle leasing and the wider fleet sector.
Recognising The People Behind The Industry
The BVRLA is particularly keen to recognise people who are not necessarily in senior management positions. This includes frontline employees, operational staff and colleagues working behind the scenes whose contributions play an important role in delivering services and maintaining strong customer relationships.
The association says the revised awards are intended to highlight achievements throughout its membership, regardless of the size or type of organisation involved.
Toby Poston, Chief Executive of the BVRLA, highlighted the importance of recognising individuals whose work often goes unnoticed.
He explained that many of the industry’s most valuable contributions come from employees who solve everyday problems, support customers and find better ways of working.
The association is encouraging members to put forward colleagues whose efforts have made a genuine difference to their businesses and the wider sector.
Behind every successful fleet operation is a team of people coordinating vehicle requirements, supporting drivers and helping businesses keep their vehicles on the road. Effective fleet administration and account support can make a real difference to the day-to-day running of a business fleet.
Recognising the people behind successful businesses is equally important within the leasing industry, where dedicated teams help customers manage their vehicles and day-to-day requirements. You can find out more about the people behind CVC on our Meet The Team page.
How To Nominate An Industry Hero
BVRLA member businesses are invited to submit nominations through a short online application form, explaining why their chosen individual or team deserves recognition.
Entries will be assessed anonymously by a panel of senior BVRLA representatives, ensuring nominations are judged on their merits rather than the identity of the person or organisation submitting them.
