Lloyds Banking Group Brings Lex Autolease, Tusker And Black Horse Under New Lloyds Auto Brand

Lloyds Banking Group is bringing its three motor finance and vehicle leasing businesses together under a new customer-facing brand, Lloyds Auto, in a move designed to create a simpler, more joined-up experience for customers, businesses and industry partners.

The new brand will unite Lex Autolease, Tusker and Black Horse, covering vehicle leasing, salary sacrifice and motor finance. The group says the change will help simplify how customers access its services while allowing it to focus investment on future products, technology and customer support.

There will be no immediate changes to existing fleet arrangements or customer agreements. Products, services and agreements will continue to operate as they do today, meaning businesses can continue with their existing arrangements. Any future changes will be introduced gradually, with customers and partners kept informed.

The decision follows a period of closer alignment between the group’s leasing operations. In August, Lloyds appointed Kit Wisdom as managing director of both Lex Autolease and Tusker, signalling its intention to bring the businesses closer together.

Preston Rogers, interim managing director for transport at Lloyds Banking Group, said the new identity would build on the established reputations and expertise of the three businesses while creating a clearer proposition for customers.

The group intends for Lloyds Auto to provide a single brand through which it can develop its services, accelerate innovation and improve the customer experience over time.

The announcement also follows Lloyds Banking Group’s plans to transition the Halifax brand to Lloyds.

What Does The Lloyds Auto Rebrand Mean For Business Fleets?

For businesses using business vehicle leasing and finance, the immediate impact is expected to be minimal. Existing contracts and services will remain in place, meaning fleet operators do not need to take action as a result of the announcement.

However, the longer-term integration of Lex Autolease, Tusker and Black Horse could lead to changes in how customers access products and support as the new brand develops. For fleet operators, the transition will be worth monitoring as Lloyds Auto develops its approach to customer support, online account management and vehicle funding. Any future changes to account access, reporting tools or the way businesses manage their vehicles could be particularly relevant to companies operating larger fleets.

However, Lloyds Banking Group has not announced specific changes to these services. For now, businesses should continue using their existing arrangements and wait for official communications before making any decisions based on the rebrand.

Lex Autolease and Tusker have established positions in the vehicle leasing and salary sacrifice markets, while Black Horse operates in motor finance. Bringing the three under one identity gives Lloyds Banking Group an opportunity to coordinate its motor-related services more closely.

Lex Autolease also has a significant presence in the UK fleet sector. Lloyds Transport, which combines the risk fleets of Lex Autolease and Tusker, was ranked the UK’s largest vehicle leasing company in the previous FN50 survey. The latest FN50 results are due to be published in November 2026.

For fleet managers, the key consideration will be whether the rebrand eventually brings practical improvements to service, digital platforms and the management of vehicle agreements. Businesses reviewing their own arrangements can also explore fleet management solutions and long-term commercial vehicle leasing when considering how best to manage their vehicles and funding requirements.

What The Lloyds Auto Rebrand Means For The Wider Leasing Market

The creation of Lloyds Auto brings vehicle leasing, salary sacrifice and motor finance under a single customer-facing identity, reflecting a broader focus on simplifying how customers access related vehicle services.

For the UK leasing market, the significance will depend on how Lloyds Banking Group puts that strategy into practice. A more closely integrated operation could create opportunities to streamline customer journeys and coordinate services, although the group has not yet confirmed specific operational changes or new products arising from the rebrand.

The transition will also be worth watching given Lex Autolease’s established position in the fleet sector and Tusker’s presence in salary sacrifice. How these businesses retain their specialist expertise while moving towards a shared brand will be an important part of the process.

For businesses, the announcement is a reminder that leasing providers and finance partners can evolve over the course of a vehicle agreement. Companies reviewing their options should consider not only funding costs, but also service, fleet support and how well a provider’s offering meets their operational requirements.

Lloyds Auto: What Happens Next?

Lloyds Auto represents a significant branding change for Lloyds Banking Group’s motor finance and vehicle leasing operations, bringing Lex Autolease, Tusker and Black Horse together under one identity from 2027.

For now, existing customer agreements and services remain unchanged. The real test will be whether the transition delivers the simpler customer experience and improved support the group intends, particularly for businesses managing fleets or accessing vehicle finance.

For fleet operators, the priority remains finding vehicle leasing and fleet management arrangements that meet their business needs, with any future developments from Lloyds Auto worth monitoring as the transition progresses.
