2023 Ford Transit Custom: out with the old, in with the new

The all-electric e-Transit Custom

Debuting for the first time at the 2022 IAA Transportation Show in Hannover, the e-Transit Custom is long-awaited Ford‘s first fully electric medium van. Set to go into production in the second half of 2023, this groundbreaking vehicle aims to offer a range of up to 236 miles, a significant improvement over the current e-Transit’s 196-mile range.

The Transit e-Custom features rear-wheel drive, a motor with 415 Nm of torque, and a choice of 134 hp and 215 hp power outputs. With fast 125 kW charging capabilities, you can charge the battery from 15% to 80% in just 41 minutes.

Plug-in hybrid and diesel options

In addition to the electric version, the new Transit Custom 2023 is also available in plug-in hybrid and diesel models. The plug-in hybrid model features a 2.5-liter petrol engine and an 11.8 kWh battery, while the diesel lineup includes a 2.0-liter engine with power outputs ranging from 110 hp to 170 hp.

The Mobile Office pack offers some truly impressive features. The one we love the most is the tiltable steering wheel, which can be transformed into either a laptop stand or a small table for eating/writing. This pack also includes dimmable LED interior lighting and extra storage between the seats for documents or devices.

The Ford Transit Custom 2023 is packed with cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most connected and advanced vans on the market. The new model comes with Ford’s latest SYNC 4 infotainment system, which includes a large touchscreen display, voice control, and seamless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition, the new Ford Transit Custom van offers a range of advanced driver assistance systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping System, and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. Custom’s L-shaped bulkhead with second-row seating and full-length loading bay is our favorite feature, without a doubt. This is an answer to those who needed a Ford Transit Custom crew cab van but also enough cargo length to carry longer loads. Now, you can have both! Plus, the new Transit Custom now offers a low step-in height and a lower roofline of 2 metres to help it fit comfortably in underground parking facilities.
