2023 Ford Transit Custom: out with the old, in with the new

The Transit Custom has long been a staple in the UK medium commercial vehicle market, known for its reliability, versatility, and performance. With the release of the Ford Transit Custom 2023 model, businesses across the UK can expect a game-changing van that raises the bar in terms of technology, efficiency, and design. In this blog, we’ll explore the key features of the new Ford Transit Custom and how it can benefit your business.

Let’s dive into the details and explore what makes this new Transit Custom so special.

New Ford Transit Custom : Era of electric and hybrid vans

This exciting new model comes with a variety of powertrain options, including electric, plug-in hybrid, and diesel, ensuring that there’s a suitable choice for every business need.

The updated powertrains are designed to deliver improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, making the new Custom van an eco-friendly choice for businesses looking to minimise their carbon footprint.

The all-electric e-Transit Custom

Debuting for the first time at the 2022 IAA Transportation Show in Hannover, the e-Transit Custom is long-awaited Ford‘s first fully electric medium van. Set to go into production in the second half of 2023, this groundbreaking vehicle aims to offer a range of up to 236 miles, a significant improvement over the current e-Transit’s 196-mile range.

The Transit e-Custom features rear-wheel drive, a motor with 415 Nm of torque, and a choice of 134 hp and 215 hp power outputs. With fast 125 kW charging capabilities, you can charge the battery from 15% to 80% in just 41 minutes.

Plug-in hybrid and diesel options

In addition to the electric version, the new Transit Custom 2023 is also available in plug-in hybrid and diesel models. The plug-in hybrid model features a 2.5-liter petrol engine and an 11.8 kWh battery, while the diesel lineup includes a 2.0-liter engine with power outputs ranging from 110 hp to 170 hp.

The best becomes even better?

If you ever leased a Transit Custom, then you know this van is simply outstanding. But now businesses across the UK can expect something even more remarkable – this all-new model offers technology and efficiency never seen before.

The next-generation Transit Custom range – including the all-electric versions – will strengthen Ford’s position as Europe’s number one commercial vehicle brand.

Your new mobile office on wheels

Ford has recognised the need for a versatile workspace in their vans, and the new Transit Custom delivers just that.

The Mobile Office pack offers some truly impressive features. The one we love the most is the tiltable steering wheel, which can be transformed into either a laptop stand or a small table for eating/writing. This pack also includes dimmable LED interior lighting and extra storage between the seats for documents or devices.

More advanced technology and connectivity

The Ford Transit Custom 2023 is packed with cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most connected and advanced vans on the market. The new model comes with Ford’s latest SYNC 4 infotainment system, which includes a large touchscreen display, voice control, and seamless smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition, the new Ford Transit Custom van offers a range of advanced driver assistance systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping System, and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. These features not only enhance driver’s safety but also contribute to a more comfortable and stress-free driving experience.

Improved comfort and practicality

The new Custom van boasts a redesigned cabin, offering increased comfort and practicality for drivers and passengers. The all-new platform allows for a completely flat floor in the cabin, making it easier to move around and providing more knee room for passengers. While the cabin’s layout has been optimised for easy access to controls and storage compartments, the ergonomically designed seats also provide improved support.

Custom’s L-shaped bulkhead with second-row seating and full-length loading bay is our favorite feature, without a doubt. This is an answer to those who needed a Ford Transit Custom crew cab van but also enough cargo length to carry longer loads. Now, you can have both! Plus, the new Transit Custom now offers a low step-in height and a lower roofline of 2 metres to help it fit comfortably in underground parking facilities.

The future of Ford commercial vehicles

With its electric, plug-in hybrid, and diesel options, along with its innovative mobile office features, the new Ford Transit Custom is sure to appeal to a wide range of customers. And, when you lease with us, we can customise your van to suit your specific business needs. From internal storage solutions and racking systems to bespoke signage branding, the Ford Transit Custom 2023 is a blank canvas that we can tailor to your exact requirements. We’ll get your new van ready for action quickly and efficiently, so that you can focus on your business while we take care of your fleet.
