Volkswagen has opened orders for updated versions of the Caddy Cargo and Caddy People in the UK, bringing revised styling, new interior technology and additional driver assistance features to the compact van and passenger-carrying models.
The updated Caddy range introduces a larger infotainment display, Digital Cockpit Pro, improved cabin controls and additional smartphone charging technology, while exterior changes include a redesigned front bumper, new paint colours and new alloy wheel designs.
Production of the updated Caddy has already begun at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ plant in Poznań, Poland, with the first vehicles now coming off the production line. The first UK customer deliveries are expected later this month.
The updated range also adds further choice for businesses considering Volkswagen Caddy leasing, with SWB and Maxi versions and a choice of diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
New Technology Inside The Volkswagen Caddy
One of the biggest changes to the updated Caddy is inside the cabin.
Both the Caddy Cargo and Caddy People gain a new 12.9-inch floating central touchscreen, giving the compact Volkswagen models a larger infotainment display. The system features customisable touch controls for frequently used applications, while Digital Cockpit Pro is now standard across the range.
Volkswagen has also introduced a 25W wireless smartphone charging pad, along with an additional USB-C charging point.
The temperature controls have also been redesigned, with illuminated touch sliders making them easier to see and operate.
The cabin receives further changes through revised upholstery designs and updated decorative trim, with the exact finish depending on the chosen specification.
Volkswagen Caddy Gets Updated Driver Assistance Technology
Volkswagen has also made changes to the Caddy’s driver assistance systems.
The Travel Assist system now incorporates assisted lane changing, adding another function to the range of driving assistance technology available on the updated models.
Emergency Assist has also been revised.
These changes are particularly relevant to drivers who spend significant amounts of time behind the wheel, where additional driver assistance technology can help reduce the workload on longer journeys.
Exterior Changes For The New Caddy
The facelift is not limited to the technology inside the vehicle.
Volkswagen has introduced a redesigned front bumper, available in different finishes, while buyers will also have additional exterior personalisation options.
Four new metallic paint finishes are available: Reed Green, Sunset Red, Grenadilla Black and Grey-Brown.
The updated Caddy also receives new alloy wheel designs, with 16-inch to 18-inch wheels available depending on specification.
The changes are relatively subtle, with the Caddy retaining the familiar compact proportions of the existing model.
The Caddy Cargo remains available in both standard-wheelbase (SWB) and Maxi configurations, allowing businesses to choose between the two body lengths depending on their loading requirements.

Volkswagen Caddy Cargo Engines And Trim Levels
The updated Caddy Cargo is available with a choice of Commerce, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro trim levels.
Engine options for the UK include a 2.0-litre TDI diesel producing 102PS and a 1.5-litre eHybrid plug-in hybrid producing 150PS.
The diesel is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the eHybrid uses a six-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The 102PS diesel is already available through CVC, with the Volkswagen Caddy Cargo C20 2.0 TDI 102PS providing a direct leasing option for businesses looking for a conventional diesel small van.
The plug-in hybrid provides an option for businesses looking to introduce electrification without moving completely away from an internal-combustion engine.
Volkswagen’s latest information provides further detail on the Caddy eHybrid. The plug-in hybrid uses a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, with a combined system output of 110kW.
It is equipped with a 19.7kWh net-capacity battery, with Volkswagen quoting an electric driving range of up to 122km (76 miles) on the combined WLTP cycle.
For urban driving, the manufacturer quotes up to 144km (90 miles) of electric range.
The battery is positioned ahead of the rear axle, with Volkswagen stating that this allows the Caddy and Caddy Cargo to retain their full cargo capacity.
CVC also currently lists the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi 1.5 TSI eHybrid 150 Commerce Plus Assistance DSG, giving businesses an option to consider the longer-wheelbase Caddy with a 150PS plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Caddy Offers Flexible Options For Business Users
The Caddy Cargo continues to be available in different body configurations, giving businesses a choice between the standard-wheelbase model and the longer Caddy Cargo Maxi. The longer-wheelbase Caddy Maxi 2.0 TDI 102PS is also available as a diesel leasing option for businesses that need additional load space.
For operators needing additional carrying capacity, Volkswagen Caddy Maxi leasing provides access to the longer-wheelbase version, which can carry two Euro pallets and offers up to 4.2m³ of cargo space depending on specification.
The wider Caddy range is also designed to accommodate different uses, with Volkswagen offering various configurations and conversion possibilities, while businesses requiring more specialist equipment can also explore commercial vehicle conversions.
For businesses that need a vehicle capable of adapting to different requirements, the Caddy can therefore be configured around its intended use, from everyday commercial work to specialist applications, making business van leasing an option for companies looking to spread the cost of acquiring a new van.
For companies looking to use the Caddy without purchasing it outright, Business Contract Hire can provide an alternative way of funding a new van, with the agreement structured around factors such as contract length, annual mileage and the vehicle specification.
Businesses looking for greater flexibility around how they fund the vehicle can also consider Finance Lease, depending on their circumstances and the way they intend to operate the van.
Volkswagen Expands Caddy Fleet Management Technology
Volkswagen is also continuing to expand its digital tools for business and fleet customers.
Its Connect Pro fleet management system provides businesses with a centralised view of vehicle information, alerts and maintenance requirements for Caddy Cargo models, which can be particularly useful when planning routine vehicle maintenance across a business fleet.
Businesses should also consider the difference between manufacturer warranty cover and routine servicing when budgeting for the overall cost of running a leased van. Understanding the difference between warranty and maintenance can help businesses plan for ongoing operating costs and understand which repairs may be covered by warranty and which may fall under routine maintenance.
Volkswagen also offers a Fleet Interface solution, which provides an API that can allow vehicle data to be integrated with existing business systems.
For businesses ordering vehicles, the myVolkswagen Business platform can also be used to save vehicle configurations, search for successor models and monitor order status.
These systems are aimed particularly at businesses and fleet managers operating multiple vehicles, where having access to vehicle information and maintenance data in one place can make day-to-day fleet management easier.
Updated Volkswagen Caddy Production Begins
The latest Caddy is now being produced at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Poznań plant, where the model has been manufactured since 2003.
Volkswagen says almost 2.9 million Caddy vehicles have been produced at the Polish factory since production began there.
The fifth-generation Caddy has also proved popular globally, with Volkswagen stating that more than 500,000 examples have been sold worldwide and that more than 110,000 Caddy vehicles were delivered during 2025.
For the UK market, however, the key changes are the updated design, new interior technology, enhanced driver assistance systems and the continued choice of compact and Maxi body styles.
Orders for the updated Caddy Cargo and Caddy People are now open, with the first UK deliveries expected later this month.
