What is a dropside van?
As the name suggests, the side and tailboards are hinged along the lower edge, pivoting down below floor level for loading. Dropside commercial vehicles are available for lease and contract hire with Commercial Vehicle Contracts. They are able to carry a mix of loads and equipment as required. By simply removing the side and tailboards, along with the rear corner posts it can quickly be transformed into an open flatbed body, easily loaded manually or by forklift.
The dropside van features fold-out steps to provide easy access to the load area whenever the sideboards are dropped down, reducing the risk of a fall down. They make the transport of large, awkward loads easy with their spacious load capacity.
Very popular with the scaffolding, logistics and construction companies, these vans are particularly popular with the building trade.
